NATIVES

NATIVES is a creative vision project based out of Richmond, Virginia that enhances community life through arts and culture experiences. Founded by Mikemetic in 2012, NATIVES has continued to evolve as the manifestation of a unified front of creative minds that seek to address locally many of the social issues common to communities across the world.

The Four Primary Initiatives of NATIVES are:

• Cultural expansion through targeted media 

• Grow the presence of murals reflective of and relevant to RVA history and culture

• Promote wider variety of culturally diverse experiences to youth in the region

• Increase access to fresh food sources in urban communities

For each of these initiatives NATIVES is working directly with established individuals and organizations within the RVA community and beyond to build a sustainable network that brings a higher level of health and cultural consciousness to the Richmond region.

Creative Director - Michael “Mikemetic” Williams

Mikemetic has been involved in Richmond’s arts and culture scene since his arrival in the Capital City to attend VCU in 1991. He continues to document RVA’s emerging creative landscape while crafting a unique vision and reality of what RVA can be.
